Cheap eyecare
There was an article in the New York Times recently about how to save money on eye care. I guess there are going to be a lot of articles in the papers (and television news) about how people can save money now that the economy is so bad! The article was educating the general public about how people really don’t need to have their eyes checked as often as they have been taught to think, and the article was talking about shopping around for deals on eyeglasses. One of the mistakes many people make is to buy their eyeglasses straight from the little store attached to their eye doctor’s office. Those glasses are always really expensive! And many insurance plans cover the cost of the exam, but not of the glasses! I know that’s how MY insurance works!
Another thing the article mentions is buying the eyeglasses over the Internet – and tells the reader that Zenni Optical is a good place to buy eyeglasses as cheaply as $8 a pair. I went on their website to look at their selectron of $8 glasses and found that there were several good looking sets. I posted a picture of my favorite one – I’ve always been partial to aviator frames! The $8 includes the prescription lens, too! You can’t beat that deal with a stick!
