A New Spice Rack For My Sister’s Kitchen

One gift that was a tremendous hit was the kitchen wall spice rack that I purchased online for my sister. She had been hinting that she has seen some pretty nice kitchen spice racks, so I figured I try and find one that she would like for Christmas. Now spice racks aren’t something that I am into or know much about but it wasn’t too difficult to find some nice ones on the Internet.

I made most of my holiday purchases online this year, it saved me time and money, which these days no one seems to have enough of. I only went to the mall one time during the holiday shopping madness and that was enough to last me until next year’s shopping season. I didn’t find one single spice rack that did much for me there so I’m glad that I took a few minutes and found one online. It was shipped for free and they took PayPal which are pluses in my book.

I’m glad that my sister enjoyed my gift this year. Usually I don’t do that good when buying something for her. So maybe I’m on to something here.

New TV Show

I have been seeing several commercials for some new TV shows that are due to start in January. It is hard to keep up with all of the changes with all of the channels that we get now a days. Hopefully I’ll be able to catch a few of the new ones and find a couple that are decent enough to continue watching until the summer reruns come around once again.

After Midnight Christmas Shopping Is The Best Time

Thanks for the article from Isaiah Gaines

Going Christmas shopping can be stressful with the crowds and all the people. Carts seem to be wider than ever when one tries to get through the aisles getting from one department to the next. The best time to go is very late at night or early in the morning. Two o’clock in the morning is a perfect time. There are no crowds, one can browse as long as they want and not be asked to move, you can take time to play with the toys to see if they are as interesting as they look. It is never a good idea to go alone if you shop at this time. Take a friend with you and after shopping find a restaurant that is open all night to have a good meal before you call it a night.

Before I go shopping I always leave lights on so the home looks like it is occupied. There is less of a chance of someone breaking in if they think that they will be seen by someone. I always set the Security choice home alarm system before I go and when I return, I make sure I only carry a few bags so that they are not weighing me down and the items I can leave in the trunk of the car till morning, stay in the car.

Santa lives

Santa Claus came through this year. Maybe not quite as extravagant as previous years, but he came through, and that is the main point. We have a few family members come over for the Christmas meal and exchanged gifts and played a few games. We all had a good time, there were no big fights and all in all it was a good day. Now it’s time for a good night’s sleep.

Gifts for the gardener

One of my favorite gifts to give gardeners is a brand new window box full of new hand garden tools.  A fresh pair of gardening gloves, a new trowell, a new knee pad, a small watering can, a new mosquito net hat, some new plant markers and maybe a couple of seedling plants or packets of seeds.  And if you know the gardener’s boot size, a nice pair of gardening clogs!

Window boxes come in such a wide variety of styles and colors that it is really fun to pick out which one you think the gardener might like the best. If you are really artistic and creative, you can take a couple of plain garden window boxes and decorate them in some fashion that makes it more personalized. Perhaps stencil the family name on the side, or the house number.  I can’t imagine any gardener that would not appreciate a gift like that!
