Locker Issues

Speaking of school issues. I remember last year I attended a school function with my sister, her husband and my niece. It was a Christmas Chorus event and it actually was pretty good considering that it was held by middle schoolers that have just started singing in their young lives.

I remember looking at the School Lockers in the hall ways and thinking how little the Lockers have become since I was in school.  They are now half the size of what they used to be, I don’t know how these kids are managing to cram everything that they need into them. During the winter months with your coats, boots, mittens, umbrellas and the like it must be a real hassle for the poor kids.

Now my Gym Locker was small, if I remember correctly it was a Wood Locker, which was a poor choice, in my opinion, since  wood absorbs odors and we all know how smelly our gym clothes were back then. Now a days they don’t even make the kids take a shower after gym class, which is something that we always were made to do each and every day.

Anyway, I had a few minutes to spare last night and found myself looking at the variety of Lockers for sale on the Internet. We have come a long way baby, but I still think that they need to give today’s students bigger Lockers.

School Is In Session

I found out that yesterday was the first day of school for the neighborhood kids in this county. All the school buses are heading out bright and early to pick all the students up and the roads are getting jammed up again in the morning. I’m glad that most of the buses are done delivering when the evening rush hour heats up.

Bumper Stickers

I hate bumper stickers. You would never catch me putting any bumper sticker on any of my vehicles. They just look tacky to me and they really take away from the looks of the vehicle. I’ve seen cars just plastered with these popular stickers and it just really grosses me out.

Rain Barrels

I’m glad to hear that rain harvesting has once again becoming commonplace for a good amount of people. With our drought conditions that we have been experiencing these past years we really need to take advantage of any type of water conservation that we possibly can. There are plenty of rain barrels for sale these days. You can find tons of them online and from what I hear these wonderful rain barrels are selling like hot cakes.

My father used rain water barrels when we lived at the old home stead back in the day. I really never gave it much thought back then, but I do appreciate all of his efforts now a days. I plan on ordering some rain barrels for my own place come next pay day. If it will help with keeping our garden producing, I’m all for it. There has been a big effort to get this garden up and running and I look forward to a good harvest coming in soon.

I love this time of the year when folks are harvesting their gardens and giving away all of the extras that they have no need or use for. It’s all good!

Coupons

I have just recently really started to use coupons when I shop. It is a major chore for me but the savings are worth the time and effort of the whole ordeal. Last night I went to the grocery store and remembered to bring my coupons and saved over $20 for the effort!
