September brings some good, along with some bad. September brings the end of summer, but also brings the beginning of autumn. September 12th is always a hard day for me. My father passed away on that date and it always ends up being a hard day to get over and done with. It never gets easier no matter how many years pass us by.

The neighborhood kids should now be getting used to getting up nice and early in order to get on the bus and to school on time. I’m so glad that I’m not having to deal with getting kids up and ready for school, I can’t imagine starting the day off with all that goes along with that drama. However I am pretty involved with several of my nieces and nephews and attend several of their school functions, activities and events when I can.
It is always such a trip going into their schools, seeing the lockers, looking into the class rooms, smelling the cafeteria, reading all the school bulletin boards with all the bright colors and lettering that are so abundant in schools. Some bulletin boards are pretty plain and simple, while some really took some time and effort to put together and look real nice like. In my last year of elementary school I was in charge of the 6th grade class bulletin board and I have to say that I could have done a much better job if I had tried harder and if the provided supplies had been decent enough. But things were pretty simple back then, so was I come to think of it!
