I like when I get the abc distributing catalogue in the mail box, especially the ones that come out right before Christmas. You can find something for just about anyone in this company’s catalogue and the prices are great. They even have their products online at abcdistributing.com but I prefer to look in the book and then submitting my order online.
I don’t know all that much about babies and all the things that go along with these tiny creatures. But my kid sister is expecting her first baby and the family is getting together and throwing her a baby shower and I need to come up with some type of baby product to purchase for her as a gift by the end of October. So I’ve been cruising the Internet looking around to see what is out there that I think would be appropriate for that event.
My goodness there is so much out there, Cribs, High Chairs, Bassinets, and of course Changing Stations, the list goes on and one. Makes it hard to make a decision. Money really isn’t an issue, I want to get some thing decent, not just some crappy gift that anyone can pick up for a couple of bucks without putting much thought or effort into.
While looking around I found something that caught my eye, but was thrown off by the name, Prams. The picture looks like a stroller and I do believe that is what I’ll pick up for her, but I’ve never heard of the term Pram before. Oh well, like I said, I don’t know much about babies and their products, but one is never too old to learn, right?
I have to hand it to The Animal Planet that is drawing attention to the issue of the slaughtering of and the harvesting of dolphins all around the world. There new TV show Blood Dolphins is a good show for all to see and I hope that by bringing this issue for us to see that some thing will done about this horrific issue that so many people are not aware of.
I think that one of the best invention in the world is the automatic dishwasher. I hate washing dishes by hand, and I know that my wife hates it too. Every time I open the dishwasher door to put a dirty plate or glass in it, I am grateful that we have one. The only issue that I have with the dishwashers is the fact that they often don’t really clean some of the plates and glasses very well. As much as the commercials claim that the dishwashers are superior, and as much as we use the best detergent, the dishwasher often leaves coffee/tea stains on the cups and dried food on the plates. And yes, I’m sure we are to blame for not pre-rinsing the dishes, but I’ve read a lot of articles about how you should not pre-rinse the dishes because if you do then your drinking glasses end up getting etched because the detergent can’t find any real dirt to attack! Sounds crazy, right? Regardless, our glasses are etched anyway, and our cups are stained. So from time to time we need to hand scrub the cups. I wonder why the detergent doesn’t do a better job on them.
I can remember in my Algebra 2 I spent a lot of time wondering why in the world I was taking that class! Sure, the math came easy enough for me, thank goodness, but I really didn’t think that I was ever going to need to know that kind of math in the “real world.” I rather had that kind of attitude in my 5th grade math class when we spent so much time on fractions. Adding fractions was easy enough, but when it came to dividing them so many of the students could not grasp the concept. Personally I thought it was rather “cool” to be able to simply flip one upside down and multiply to get the right answer!
The experts predict that as the future unfolds, more jobs are going to be math-intensive. Job growth is predicted in the field of Engineering, which is definitely math-intensive. Fortunately for today’s students and parents, the Internet has made access to getting math tutoring help quick, easy, and affordable. I’m glad to know that these kinds of things will make it easier for America’s kids to remain competitive in the global job market!
