Last night we finally got our first snow of this year’s winter season. Only a few inches, but enough to close the schools for the day. It doesn’t take much for the schools to close down these days. I’m glad that I don’t have to deal with schools and child care issues. Old man winter keeps me busy enough.

My siblings and I have finally decided on all going in on a trip to Myrtle Beach for this year’s Christmas present to the folks. We are going to find them one of the new Myrtle Beach best hotels that is right on the beach and one that has good golf packages that we know that they will appreciate and enjoy. The Horizon Resort at 77th gets my vote. I’ve done some research on these Myrtle Beach hotel packages and I think The Horizon is top notch, while still affordable, if we all pitch in as promised.

The Horizon has indoor and outdoor pools, hut tubs, over 80 golf courses to offer. It only opened two years ago, in 2008 and is doing well for itself right in the heart of Myrtle Beach. They have a user friendly website, http://www.horizonmyrtlebeach.com that can fill the other siblings in on what I’m voting for.We don’t have much time left, so doing all of this online is going to be a time saver all the way around. My parents will certainly be happy with this year’s Christmas gift, I can’t imagine anyone not wanting to play a few rounds of golf in the Myrtle Beach South Carolina area.

There are some TV Commercials that just really hit the spot. The first time I saw this one from Subaru it caught me off guard and I found myself getting some what emotional. I know, guys are not supposed to admit those type of feelings but hey I’m only human and I have my moments just like most of us do.

Anyway I just saw the commercial again while I was typing away on my laptop and I decided to see if I could find the commercial online. Just a few moments later – here it is.

Any father who has a daughter just has to think hard about this one.

Today was the perfect day for a motorcycle ride, so I made a few calls and rounded up a few friends that have some nice looking and nice sounding Harley’s. We spent the day getting some decent wind in our faces and then stopped for some spicy Mexican Food along with a few cold beers. Couldn’t have been a better day.

I can’t believe it, but I have to face the facts that my best bud is picking up and Moving To Texas come the first of the year. We have been best friends since the 4th grade, been through hell and back, through thick and thin, and all that rot and I never thought that we would end up so far apart in this wacky world. But his new wife just inherited a great house that her recently passed step father left her and he has been able to get a transfer close to the house, so off they are going to Texas.

It will take some work to get them ready to move. They have a lot of stuff to sort through, get rid of and to pack the rest. I’m sure I’ll be spending a good amount of time over there lending them a hand as much as I can. Now he needs to look into finding some Texas Moving Companies to get all the stuff there safe and secure like. He is very computer literate and I imagine he can just Google “Texas Movers” and find several to choose from in a matter of minutes. I know because I did it just a few moments ago and was surprised to find as many as I did. There are even plenty of Texas International Movers, but thank the good lord that he doesn’t have to deal with all that goes with an international move.
