As much as I hate the idea of my kid brother taking his new bride, along with their new baby boy, up north to beautiful Calgary Canada there isn’t much I can do about the situation at hand. His new father-in-law has promised him a good job up there and with our economy still in such turmoil, with no end in sight, a good job can make or break a marriage these days.

So they are busy with looking at the current Calgary listings and searching for a good reputable Calgary Realtor so that they will have a place lined up for them upon their arrival, which they are expecting to happen by the end of June. That doesn’t leave them with much time to get all the things that need to be taken care all done. Relocating is one big pain in the rear and with a new baby makes it all the more of a challenge.

It really bothers me that they will be so far away and that non of us will be around to be involved in their new sons life as much as we would like. It will be strange, indeed.

I got a quick lesson on vessel sinks over the weekend. One of the topics of conversation over Easter dinner was home remodeling and my niece is all excited about the new vessel sink that she just found and ordered online. I’m sorry but I had never seen or heard of vessel sinks before, so after dinner was done and over with I was brought over to one of the laptops that was brought along (funny how people don’t leave home without their computer, even at holiday family functions) and shown a website that has some of the most amazing looking vessel sinks. The same website that my niece ordered from.

I have to say that I agree that these are some good looking sink options and I’m not surprised that they are becoming popular. They come in stone, glass and copper, the stone ones are my favorite. It seems that stainless steel tile is becoming a very popular way to tile in numerous ways and rooms in homes these days. My sister and her hubby are seriously looking into having some pretty nice looking decorative metal tiles from MetalStainlessSteelTiles.com  to be installed in their recent kitchen make over, that I really am starting to appreciate the look of. I have to say that at first the thought of stainless steel tiles just didn’t set right with my taste, but after looking at the big picture I do believe that it will look pretty darned good.

They have been working on this kitchen make over since the end of the year and they really want to wrap it up and move on to other outside projects that they could be getting into while we are having perfect weather for outdoor projects. I’ve been getting a lot done outside, you have to take this perfect 70 degree weather, with no humidity, while you can. I’m ready to drag out the tiller and get started on tilling our small vegetable and herb garden this weekend.

My wife and her sister have been talking about starting a marketing business, helping local business people to improve their presences on the Internet. They’ve been tossing around a few ideas about what to call the business, and talking about how much money it will cost to start up the business. My wife came across a website that wrote about how start-up businesses run by women might be eligible for business grants, and she is going to take a look at what they will have to do in order to apply for one.

In this job market, it seems to me that creating your own job just might be a good idea. So many companies are laying off employees, and the few that are hiring are only hiring temporary or part time help so they don’t have to give them any kind of benefits. Becoming self-reliant is a good idea, don’t you agree?
